MalikaAlaoui was born in Switzerland from a swiss mother and a moroccan father. She is singer/ composer/performer with a strong background in dance and theater. Malika trained at a music school near Avignon (FR) and since 2001 she has been composing and performing in several artistic projects.
She sang the lead role in "Alegria" by Cirque du Soleil, one of the most successful productions ever staged.She toured 4 years around the world.
The vocalist collaborates with incredible artists, musicians and composers such as Stuart Hamm, Robert Fripp, Dominique Lièvre and the fantastic artist Okwui Okpokwasili for the 10th Berlin Biennale for Contemporary Art.
Based in Berlin, Malika performs live and in studio with different music projects like - „Stand-Arts“ an establisched Berliner Jazzband - Her solo show „Now“ - "Minimal Utopia" - "Kilinba" - other collaborations - in Theaters, clubs, concert halls, and international festivals.
She is currently the singer/voice creator for "Tawa" by Gratte Ciel, they create aerial choreographic frescoes open air.
She founded the project of her own songs „Maemo“, Afropean nomad chansons.
A music release is planned in Autumn 2024.

MalikaAlaoui est née en Suisse d'une mère suisse et d'un père marocain.Elle chanteuse-musicienne, auteur-compositeur et amoureuse de lascène. Malika est bercée par la danse, le théâtre et la musique.
Elle a chanté le rôle principal du spectacle phare du Cirque du Soleil « Alegria », avec lequel elle fut en tournée pendant 4ans à travers le monde.
La vocaliste collabore avec d'incroyable artistes, musiciens etcompositeurs tels que Stuart Hamm, Robert Fripp, Dominique Lièvre ou encore la fantastique Okwui Okpokwasili pour la 10ème Biennale d'Art Contemporain de Berlin.
Basée à Berlin, Malika se produit sur scène régulièrement et en studio avec différents projets musicaux - Le Jazzband berlinois « Stand-Arts » - « Minimal Utopia Orkestra »– son spectacle vocal solo « Now » - « Kilinba» - autres collaborations - de théâtres en salles de concerts et studio en passant par de grands festival internationaux.
Elle crée la voix et son personnage dans le spectacle « Tawa » de la Cie Gratte Ciel qui imagine de grandes fresques aériennes, des spectacles de voltige grand format.
Fin 2020, Malika fonde le projet de ses chansons « Maemo » Chansons nomades afropéennes. Une sortie de disque est prévue à l'automne 2024.

Malika Alaoui ist in Lausanne (CH) geboren. Ihre Mutter ist Schweizerin, ihr Vater Marokkaner. Sie arbeitet als Singer/Songwriter/Composer, ihr zweiter Schwerpunkt liegt im Tanz und im Schauspiel.
Malika hat bis 2001 ihre Ausbildung an einer Musikhochschule in der Nähe von Avignon (F) absolviert. Sie arbeitet an mehreren, vor allem experimentellen Musik-Projekten, tritt sowohl in Theatern und Clubs auf, aber auch auf Konzertbühnen und internationalen Festivals.
2007 wird Malika Teil der „Cirque du Soleil“-Truppe. Sie singt die Hauptrolle in der Show „Alegría“, eine der erfolgreichsten Bühnenproduktionen, die es je gab. Über vier Jahre singt Malika die Rolle der „weißen“ und auch der „schwarzen Sängerin“ und ist mit der gigantischen Show in sechs Kontinenten der Welt auf Tournée.
Ihr breitgefächerter und eklektischer Musikstil umfasst Trip-Hop, World und zeitgenössische Musik aber auch Jazz und Gypsy. Sie arbeitet regelmäßig an Gemeinschaftsprojekten mit anderen Musikern: Stuart Hamm lud sie ein, auf seinem Album „Just outside of normal“ zu singen, mit Robert Fripp nahm Malika den Song „Lucidity“ auf und sie arbeitete mehrfach mit der Akkordeonistin Lidia Kaminska und dem Komponist Dominique Lièvre zusammen.
eit 2012 mit Lebensmittelpunkt in Berlin, spielt Malika mit Musikern der Berliner Jazz-Szene. Auf die Einladung von Robin de Haas hin, leitet sie außerdem in Berlin und Lausanne regelmäßig Workshops für Sänger mit dem Schwerpunkt auf Stimmbildung und Bühnenpräsenz.
Aktuell arbeitet Malika auch an einem persönlichen Project von World-Songs, mit dem Titel NOW. Es besteht aus eigenen Kompositionen, spirituellen Gesängen und viel Improvisation. In Zusammenarbeit mit dem elektroakustischen Projekt „ Schattenspiel Live“ (Komponist/Produktion: Paul David Hechhausen, Regisseur: Moritz Lohmann) erforscht Malika Komposition, Arrangement und Improvisation akustischer Instrumente im Bereich der elektronischen Musik. Ihr Ziel ist es, den natürlichen Charakter akustischer Musikinstrumente und die mitreißenden Energie elektronischer Dance-Musik miteinander zu verbinden und sie durch eine aufregende, audiovisuelle Show zu verstärken.
